You can easily translate the Chatstack Server Software by editing the Chatstack locale files. The Chatstack Server Software is currently only distributed in English. The Chatstack Messenger Windows application is currently only available in English and can not be translated, it does however support multilingual chat requests using Unicode™ UTF-8.

The Chatstack Messenger application supports multilingual chats using the following languages Arabic, Bulgarian, Chinese Traditional, Chinese Simplified, Czech, Danish, German, Greek, English, Spanish, French, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Dutch, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Swedish, Turkish and many more.

You may translate Chatstack by following these instructions:

Duplicate the /livehelp/locale/en/ directory and rename the new directory with your appropriate language code, eg. French (fr), Danish (da) – a complete list of language codes is available within /livehelp/locale/i18n.txt

You must then translate all the text within the /livehelp/locale/fr/guest.php and /livehelp/locale/fr/admin.json file to the specified language, we highly recommend that you use Microsoft Notepad. Please note you are not permitted to modify the copyright notices and version numbers within the language files.

When saving your translated language pack file you should save the file with UTF-8 encoding. Example: File Menu > Save As > Encoding > UTF-8

Within the /livehelp/templates/ folder there is a locale images folder that also needs to be translated or duplicated. For the default template, this is located at /livehelp/templates/default/locale/. You may wish to translate the images within the /livehelp/templates/default/locale/en/images/ folder. For the French language pack example, you would duplicate this English images folder at /livehelp/templates/default/locale/fr/images/ and then translate them to French. This assumes that you are using the default template within Chatstack and not a custom template that you have created.
